The British Columbia Mobility Opportunities Society (BCMOS) makes outdoor recreation accessible to empower and inspire people with physical disabilities to re-imagine what is possible. This episode dives into paddling opportunities with BCMOS.
Their paddling program uses specially adapted equipment like accessible kayaks and wheelchair paddleboards. They have a lift on the dock to handle transfers, or you can self-transfer via a board. You will be launched into the water once you’re on the kayak or paddleboard.
VAMS Program Assistant Noah Stolte talks to some clients about their experience with paddling opportunities with BCMOS.
