Written by Jonah Lazar, the feature explores Turner’s musical background, the influences behind Bubblin’ Up, and how his approach to creating music changed following a stroke about four years ago.
Turner also speaks about the role the Vancouver Adapted Music Society has played in his music. Much of Bubblin’ Up was recorded in VAMS’ fully accessible studio, where musicians with disabilities can access adapted equipment, production support and opportunities to create and collaborate.
“It’s kind of a saviour for people with disabilities that you can still do art,” Turner told The Peak.
The article also takes a closer look at Bubblin’ Up, including its electronic influences and collaborations with artists such as Chantelle Ng and VAMS artist Rachael Ransom.
